The National Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE) postponed the meeting scheduled for February 23 to February 25.

ANRE planned to increase the tariff for consumers of Premier Energy to 2.16 lei or 2.33 lei, including VAT per kWh. The tariff for FEE Nord consumers should be increased from 2.04 to 2.46 lei, 2.65 including VAT.

Initially, the meeting to approve the new tariffs was to be held on February 16.

Electricity suppliers applied to ANRE in early January 2022. Premier Energy demanded to increase the tariff from 1.51 to 2.79 lei, and FEE Nord from 2.08 to 3.06 lei per kWh. Companies predicted an increase in the average purchase price of electricity almost twice, from 1.06 lei to 1.86 for Premier Energy and from 1.09 to 1.89 lei for FEE Nord.

Moldovan electricity suppliers claim in their appeals that they are already suffering losses due to the increased price of electricity that they buy from Energocom. According to Premier Energy, the company loses about 100 million lei every month.

On Thursday, February 16, information appeared in the press that Moldavskaya GRES offers the Moldovan side to extend existing contracts for the supply of electricity at a price of 5.35 cents per kWh.
