Horus Energy supplied LTB420E2 type gas-insulated switchgears to the Kuchurgan power station.

The gas-insulated switchgear circuit breaker is designed for quick switching on and off of individual circuits or electrical equipment in the power system, in normal or emergency conditions, with manual, remote or automatic control.

High-voltage gas-insulated switchgears operate by isolating the phases from each other by Sulfur hexafluoride (SF6). When a signal is triggered that it is necessary to turn off the electrical equipment, the contacts of individual cameras (if the device is core speaker) open. Thus, the built-in contacts form an arc, which is placed in a gaseous medium. It decomposes gas into separate components, but at the same time it decreases due to the high pressure in the tank. If the system is installed at low pressure, then additional compressors are used to pressurize and create gas blast. To equalize the current, shunting is additionally used.

Package Included:

  • Poles of a gas-insulated switchgears;
  • Pole drives;
  • Support structure;
  • Central control cabinet.

The LTB420E2 type SF6 circuit breaker is designed for a rated voltage of 400 kV and a rated current of 4000 A.
