Horus Energy Company conducted a diagnosis of the fuel oil facilities of CET NORD JSC in order to determine the preliminary situation and identify solutions for the subsequent provision of the enterprise with spare fuel.

The use of fuel oil is necessary to ensure the smooth operation of heating plants. Fuel oil has a high calorific value (9,500-10,000 kcal / kg) and has an advantage over gas in the form of the possibility of storage on a fuel oil farm.

The main goals of technical diagnosis:

• Determining access routes to fuel oil facilities;
• Visual inspection of the ramp with fuel storage tanks;
• Identification of subsequent solutions for the modernization of the economy.

CET NORD JSC is the single thermal power plant in the municipality of Balti, which owns a heating network with a length of about 200 km and which provides heat to more than 900 houses. The current capacity is 37 MW: 24 MW are produced by steam turbines, the remaining 14 MW - by internal combustion engines.

A fuel oil facility consists of the following components:

• Access railways;
• Unloading ramp with unloading neck;
• Reception point;
• Receiving borehole pumps;
• Fuel tanks;
• Fuel pumps, including local recirculation pumps;
• Fuel heaters on a fuel farm;
• The route of the fuel line and steam line to the boilers;
• Fuel injectors.

After the survey, Horus Energy Company proposed the following steps and deadlines:

1. Restoration of the railway access roads both inside the fuel oil facilities and in the immediate vicinity - 6 months;
2. Technical diagnostics of metal 5 tanks - 5 months;
3. Technical diagnostics of fuel heaters (metal condition, hydraulic indicators) - 2 months;
4. Restoration of the fuel circulation pipeline - 2 months;
5. Repair of all fuel pumps - 2 months;
6. Diagnostics of steam and fuel pipelines that go from tanks to boilers - 1-2 months;
7. Design and installation of an automated fire station - 4 months;
8. The order and installation of the upper fuel line heater between the tanks and the boiler - 4 months;
9. Replacing fuel injectors for each boiler - 2 months.
