As noted in its message, the Moldovan government earlier applied for a loan to the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and intends to direct part of the funds to cover the cost of natural gas. Procurement will be carried out in accordance with the EBRD's Procurement Policies and Rules (PP&Rs). According to the EBRD, prequalification and bidding for contracts financed by a bank loan is open to companies and joint ventures from any country. Upon request, prequalification documents will be sent electronically free of charge or can be downloaded from the Internet at the following link https://energocom.md/en/. Prequalification documents must be duly completed and submitted electronically to the email address below by June 1st. Applicants who are pre-qualified and/or conditionally pre-qualified during the initial pre-qualification conducted under this project will retain their pre-qualified status and do not need to re-apply. Interested firms or individuals can obtain additional information at the following address: mailto:tenders@energocom.md. No interested party can proceed to the next stages of the natural gas procurement procedure if it is not included in the list of prequalified suppliers. As InfoMarket agency reported earlier, the state company Energocom intends to purchase natural gas as part of a $300 million project. The Moldovan government plans to receive these funds on credit from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development to purchase natural gas and create its reserve in case of an emergency.
